Paintball Fields
Live In the Trenches
If you are interested in playing games on Paintball Fields (such as capture the flag or other types) but do not know where to go, you have come to the right place!
There are many different resources available for finding local fields, and knowing which ones to go to is very important. Let us take a look at some of the sources:
- Google for things like “Paintball Fields in (your city here).” If you do not find anything under that search and you are from a smaller town, try searching for a major one nearby (for example, trying Dallas instead of one of the nearby cities yields more results).
- Paintball stores – Usually you can find a lot of great information about local fields to play paintball at by going to stores that specialize in paintball equipment. These can be found by searching Google for “Paintball shops in (town here).” Much like the previous one, you may need to expand your search to a larger area if nothing pops up.
- Hit up www.local.com and search for “paintball” and your town here, and you will more than likely come up with a lot of sources, from paintball fields to paintball shops.
Now that you have found some paintball fields to go to, it is time to start learning more about them. Some of the questions you should be asking (if you are unable to find the information on their website – if they have one – you should call them and ask directly) are the following:
- What are their paintball rules? This is important because different places have different rules on what weapons are allowed, how powerful they can be, etc. Some may not allow automatics, for example.
- Is this an outdoor or an indoor paintball arena? Indoors will generally mean less room to run around in, but if the weather is very bad or if you can not stand the heat for long periods of time (and it is hot outside) an indoor arena may be the best choice for you.
- What is the cost and what is included? Generally all paintball fields will supply you with free air for your weapons, but some will charge for gear rentals (if you do not have any), paintballs, and other things. Others will furnish everything that is needed (including the gun) for a certain price!
- What kind of games do they play? If you are someone that is interested in only one type of game, such as Capture the Flag, and the field you are looking at only hosts games of “domination” type, you may not find that to be a good fit. It is very important that you go for a place that has the same likes as you do.
Now that you have decided where you want to go, you are ready to make sure you have all of your paintball gear together, if you plan on taking your own items. Now go have some fun!
